BAD UK
BAD UK is a charity set up in April 2015 with a huge aim - to ensure that Bile Acid Diarrhoea (BAD), also known as Bile Acid Malabsorption (BAM) or Bile Salt Malabsorption (BSM), is widely understood by the UK population, recognised much earlier by health care professionals and to help make BAD days better.
BAD UK will:
- create a website which will provide essential resources for those with BAD, health care professionals and the general population. We will be clinically supported to do this by the UHCW NHS Trust Specialist BAD Team
- build a network of local patient groups across the UK to provide support to those with BAD and their families and friends
- commence a communication plan to raise awareness within the general public
- engage with the NHS to raise the profile of BAD with the aim of improving earlier recognition of the condition and ongoing clinical management
